Layout Design for
Strike Magazine Boston
Issue 05, The Diary of a Flower
Strike is the largest student-run publication in the nation. Founded in Tallahassee, Florida, the magazine focuses on culture, fashion, and art. It aims to cultivate creative communities on college campuses by allowing students to gain 360 professional experience in all facets of content production.
As a layout designer, I was responsible for the design of all graphic elements appearing in the magazine including but not limited to page layouts, typography, illustrations, and graphics. In addition to my spreads, I was lucky enough to have my collage work showcased in this issue (seen in the last spread below).
The Diary of a Flower is a metaphorical examination of a flower's imagined life. From its bud to its bloom to its ultimate return to the earth, its story is worth exploring. For issue 05, the team wanted to tap into this beautiful yet fleeting cycle of beauty and its passing.
